LiveIntent celebrates Women’s History Month

Women’s History Month is a celebration of women’s contributions to history, culture and society. Women are celebrated at LiveIntent year round but we also enjoyed specific events last month that we’re excited to share!

One of the communities supported by LiveIntent’s Employee Resource Group (ERG) framework is called Women with Intent (WWI), and they focus on empowering and supporting those who identify as women within our organization.

On International Women’s Day, four of the leaders from Women with Intent (WWI) led a thoughtful presentation for both identified members and allies on building a workplace where women thrive. Throughout the hour, participants had the opportunity to learn, discuss and reflect on both biases and microaggressions across potential scenarios. The virtual room was connected through the vulnerability of stories shared by the women who attended and questions asked by ally participants.

Additionally, our People Development team asked employees to share a woman that has inspired them in our #meetmeatthewatercooler Slack channel. Employees were able to highlight their wives, their daughters, their sisters, and their moms in beautiful tributes – let’s just say there wasn’t a dry eye to be found anywhere!

The Women With Intent ERG community also kicked off the first book as part of their quarterly Book Club initiative, selecting “Educated” by Tara Westover. The members will spend the next 6 weeks reading on their own time and then connecting together during a meeting to discuss personal takeaways and stories.

The month was rounded out by an external Fireside Chat with Amy Jenkins, a communications expert and Executive Committee Chair of the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA). This Q+A session gave women the opportunity to hear about Amy’s journey to leadership to inspire, empower and validate the experiences of fellow women at LiveIntent. Amy encouraged the virtual room to support and empower women around us, while also trusting and empowering ourselves. At the end of the call, a LiveIntenter shared her gratitude for events and collaborative discussions like this, as she explained it helps her to not feel alone in her experiences.

Shout out to all the women at LiveIntent and the many more that have influenced us throughout our lives!
