I’m very pleased to announce that we have opened our first international offices!
Anthony “Ant” White has been brought on in order to manage our foray into the UK market. Ant is a veteran of the UK publishing industry and a fixture of the European publishing scene. He was part of the Metro launch team before heading up various ad teams at IFG and Dennis on titles as diverse as Viz and The Week. At these institutions, he developed his experience in direct marketing channels that led to a passion for the world of email. Ant became an active hub member in the DMA Email Marketing Council. When he was at Bauer, he developed an initiative that commercialized their customer data (including email) prior to being tasked with running their classified websites.
We’re bullish on the UK market and even signed several UK publishers and brands to the platform prior to having any boots on the ground. Leveraging Ant’s impressive roster of skills, loyal network and sage insight will help us strive towards achieving the exponential growth in the UK that had Crain’s recently recognize us as the #2 fastest-growing company in NYC.
We’re investing in the UK market at a pivotal time for brands and publishers. As mobile usage increases, brands need new methods for reaching customers while publishers need platforms that enable monetization of an increasingly fragmented subscriber base. Our data-driven and publisher-friendly technology platform is a way for publishers to provide new branding and reach offerings that align with modern content consumption habits. Our platform empowers people-based marketing, a highly sought after tool in the modern marketplace.
Even before we signed a single publisher or brand in the UK we were seeing user engagement. We already have advertisers buying impressions, both via our partner Net Communities as well as through DSPs like MediaMath. The overlap in digital readership between UK and US publications is meaningful and the fact that we share a common language – as well as many of the same consumer brands – makes our entrance into the UK potentially easier.
