Donned in bold, bright lipstick and a kick-ass pair of Jordan sneakers, Chris is an Inside Sales Representative on a mission. LiveIntent wasn’t her first job, but it was her first time in the industry. You see…she didn’t know a lot about digital advertising when she first started, but she was determined to learn EVERYTHING. Since joining the team, she has excelled in three different roles (not to mention our resident Zumba instructor). In this edition of “Meet a LiveIntenter”, meet Chris Hubli.
What led you to LiveIntent?
I was working for a negotiation consultancy in Rye, NY at the time and I really wanted to get into the digital advertising space. I came across LiveIntent while applying for jobs online. After successfully completing my phone screen, I came in for an in-person interview and loved what I saw…LiveIntent had hard-working and awesome people, a unique product, and a fun work environment – I was sold! I can’t believe it’s been a year and a half already, time has really flown by as each day brings something different.

Has your perception about email changed since working for LiveIntent?
Absolutely. I remember sitting in one of my onboarding sessions, “The Sales Pitch”, and I had the a-ha! moment about the value of email. People may say that email is outdated, “dead” even, but in reality, it’s more relevant and valuable than ever before. In fact, email has become so omnipresent that sometimes we fail to recognize its true value as a channel, because it’s so second-nature. I can’t count the number of times I’ve woken up in the middle of night, checked my phone, and realized I was looking at emails at 2am. Our email address is the single unique identifier that we use as a passport to the Internet – talk about powerful right there.
How does your role as an Inside Sales Representative fit into the big picture at LiveIntent?
As an Inside Sales Representative at LiveIntent, my mission is to work with younger stage digital marketers to help them grow in a more of a consultative manner. A big part of my role involves educating my clients on not only LiveIntent’s products and capabilities, but on display advertising strategies as a whole. I enjoy what I do very much because I love interacting with people and because I’m constantly learning and growing as a better salesperson.
How would you describe your LiveIntent journey?
I’d describe my LiveIntent journey as one of self-discovery and personal growth. I was able to take my strongest skills and utilize them, which is how I got to where I am now. Since starting here in July of 2015, I’ve had 3 roles on 3 different teams. I started out as an Account Coordinator on the Account Management team where I supported Account Executives day to day in managing their accounts and active campaigns. I then switched gears and moved into sales by taking on the Sales Development Manager role where I was assisting in growing Account Executives’ business by actively searching for potential new advertisers to bring on our platform and educating them on our LiveIntent’s products/capabilities. Most recently, I was promoted from Sales Development to Inside Sales, where I am now able to grow and develop client relationships from end-to-end, throughout the entire campaign lifecycle.

Who has been an influential person in your career?
An influential person in my career has been my manager in my first post-grad job, Mark. I admire his patience with me as I learned the in’s and out’s of the corporate world, especially given my fiery personality. Mark has continued to be a confidante – I actually called him and asked for his advice when I was making the decision to transition from account management to sales. Direct quote: “Mark – if this is a bad idea, tell me before I do something stupid.”
What do you enjoy most when you’re not working?
I love to dance. Doesn’t matter if it’s out at a bar on a Friday night with my friends or at a class at my favorite studio, “Banana Skirt Productions”. If you check out their website, you may catch a glimpse of yours truly! I’m also the resident Zumba instructor here at LiveIntent. Dance is not only a great form of exercise, but one of expression as well. When I’ve had a particularly long day at the office, there’s nothing I love more than cranking up my music and turning the world off for a bit.
When you were a child, what did you want to be when you grew up?
When I was really young, I wanted to be famous. I loved singing and dancing and choreographing little routines – I think I was a pop star for Halloween for a solid few years running. When I got older (and more realistic) I wanted to be a lawyer. Once I got to college, I took a case law class and realized that law was not as interesting as Law & Order made it seem on TV.
What is your 2017 theme song?
Although technically it was released last year, I think I’ll have to go with “No Problem” by Chance the Rapper. I could listen to that song every day and not get tired of it (let’s be honest I probably do).
