BlackIntent and Women with Intent communities celebrate important holidays

Two of our employee communities at LiveIntent started 2022 off strong by celebrating Black History Month and Women’s History Month with many exciting initiatives and programming.

BlackIntent

To commemorate Black History Month, BlackIntent’s marquee event was a panel discussion featuring topics including career growth and development, being Black in tech, and mentorship. Panelists included Karen McFarlane, chief marketing officer at LetterShop, Brian Lee, head of programmatic sales at TIME, and Sean Green, CEO & founder at ARTERNAL.

In recapping the panel, D’Andre Tyre, IT specialist, a member of the BlackIntent leadership team, and the MC of the panel discussion, said, “I had a great time moderating the BlackIntent panel discussion. The panelists were lovely to talk to and gave some awesome insight on what it’s like being Black in a corporate world and what the journey actually looks like. As a person of color (POC) trying to advance their professional career, the information was so valuable!” Employees throughout the company shared the same sentiment.

Not only was the panel discussion a success, throughout the month of February, BlackIntent also hosted an impactful fundraiser campaign for two causes, The Trayvon Martin Foundation and The Black Youth Project. The fundraising efforts raised an impressive $1,626.

Women with Intent

To kick off Women’s History Month, the Women with Intent community hosted a Female Leader Panel and Q&A consisting of influential leaders within LiveIntent. The panel featured Abby Hamilton, chief people officer, Aliza Chait, general manager, media platform, and Katherine Drebin, VP, finance & revenue operations, while moderated by Meryl Rosenberg, director, customer success, and co-chair of the Women with Intent group.

One of the attendees, Enkhlin Tsogtbayar, staff accountant, found the panel to be eye-opening, as it allowed her to hear from colleagues in more senior positions who have similar thoughts and anxieties within the work context, adding that “[the panel] reminded me to not be so hard on myself because I’m not alone.” The Female Leader Panel was the perfect reflection of the strong community of supportive women at LiveIntent.

To wrap up Women’s History Month, the group will be hosting a Women’s Book Club featuring the novel Uncanny Valley by Anna Wiener, a memoir of a female leader in the tech industry.

The Black History Month and Women’s History Month programming reminds us of the positive impact our employee communities are making on a daily basis. As BlackIntent and Women with Intent are just two of our seven communities at LiveIntent, we’re looking forward to celebrating and commemorating the rest of the ERG framework’s communities as 2022 progresses!
